INFORMATION  ABOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL MEETS

1.Dual Meets start at 4pm and meets run about 1 hour and 10 minutes for swim portion.  And another
half hour for diving.

2.We want ALL swimmers to stay and cheer and support divers after our home swim meets.
We must have advance written notice if swimmers plan to leave early, or they will not be eligible for
the next meet!

3.All swimmers will compete in the meets - usually multiple events.
The first heat (race) is the scored event the 2nd and 3rd heats are time trial events.
All are important for end of season invitational meet entry.

4.The maximum number of events a swimmer may compete in is 4 > 2 individual and 2 relays.

5.Swimmers MUST go to away meets on the BUS and come home on the BUS!  If for a very important
reason a swimmer will need to go home with a parent (and only a parent) a note must be turned into
Head Coach at least 1 day prior to meet.  If a swimmer goes home with parent and Coach was not
notified and ok'd the ride home.  The swimmer may be subject to not competing at the next meet.

6.Pools are 25 yards in length - most events are 50 yard (2 lenghts)
100 yards (4 lengths) or 200 yard (8 lengths) events.
Relays are 4 x 50 or 200 yard relays - each swimmer has 2 lengths of        the pool.  In Medley Relays
swimmer 1 does backstroke - 2 breaststroke    - 3 fly - 4 freestyle.

7.The individual medley is a 100 yard event - in this order >
1 length fly - back - breast - free.

8.Strokes & Turns must be performed legally or disqualifications will be called by
the PIAA / WPIAL officials.
This also goes for starts and turns and any illegal infractions
                  of PIAA rules.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SWIMMING & DIVING 2018
*************************

Our season has come to an end- and what a strong
finish our girls and guys gave at The End of Season
Invitational at Moon.

Our girls with low numbers in attendance still grabbed a
strong 3rd place finish among the nine teams.
Ans our guys missing 2 solid members were still able to
pull of the win !!!
The boys won 7 of the 9 eevnts and set a new team
record in the 200 free relay.
Jacob Packer lead the way as he came home with 4 gold
medals !   As he won the 50 & 100 free plus was part of
the Medley & 200 Free Relays that placed first.
he is only the 3rd boy in team history to accomplish 4
gold at champs.  He had some grrreat help in those
relays and in grabbing 1st place medals.
David Schlor won the 200 free / Logan Schlor won the
50 back / and Brian Bell won the 50 breast. Plus all 3 of
these guys were on the championship relays.
Brady Gardner & Nathaniel Lowman each added 2 great
swims finsihing in medal efforts. Jackson Dicesaro added
a great fly and back swims.
All of the guys stepped it up with nice time drops and
great races.  As it takes a TEAM to win !!!
And that is what we had a great TEAM effort.

Our girls swam strong with some great time drops and
solid relay efforts. Our relays were seated 4th and 5th
and the girls swam strong and placed 2nd in each relay
with good swims from Erica Prologo - CiCi Chioda - Julia
Prologo - Caroline Bachowski.
Caroline had a great meet and posted her best time in
the 200 free at 2:11 and broke the one minute barrier
in the 100 free 59.85.   Erica Prologo grabeed the girls
only 1st place as she won the 50 backstroke!
Julia & CiCi both swam strong and grabbed medals and
ribbons from there swims with solid times.
Libby Hitchings swam well as she [laced well in the 200
free and grabbed 4th in the 50 breast.
All the other girls really swam well with nice time drops
for most!
The coaches were proud of our TEAMS at this meet.
Again we did not have the normal amount of practice our
teams usually have. And lanes were crowded at practice,
but are gang still showed up and swam
West A proud  !!!

Thanks for a super season to all of our TEAM!
